Letter For a Scholarship Nomination 2

First and foremost, I would like to thank God for putting me in the position to earn a scholarship. Next, I must recognize the amazing faculty that has been instrumental in assisting my learning process.

I rely on my educational foundation from Texas Tech University on a daily basis. From outsourcing, time management, resource allocation, project organization, and public speaking skills- I have learned the outline for taking successful steps while in college.

I should win the Bruce G. Lokey Outstanding Senior Award because my last four years have been dedicated to working and researching at Texas Tech University. At Student Business Services, I learned to soothe frustrated and anxious students by giving detailed instructions to ensure student and financial portfolios were in good standing. At the TECHniques Center, I tutored students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, A.D.D., and A.D.H.D. As a tutor I have learned and relearned, and my students have taught me how to facilitate their learning process in the best way.

The future of my life will include international work experience, a master’s degree, and military experience. I am currently trying to seek a position teaching English in South Korea. Also, I want to go to graduate school to achieve a Masters of Business Administration in General Business with a concentration in Marketing. Considering my family does not have extensive military experience, I would like to be an officer in the United States Air Force. Although I am unsure in what order I will complete my future goals, I am taking steps today to ensure my success for tomorrow. I am working to complete the paperwork for teaching in Asia, and Mr. Jerry Stevens has said he will write a letter of recommendation for my application to the Air Force Officer Training School (OTS).

I know that I have an open mind when learning about new cultures, traditions, languages, and lifestyles. I believe this trait has given me the urge to work abroad and travel with the military. Living and continuing to be successful in another country gives me a strong sense of accomplishment. Many people are content living in America for their entire lives but I know that my characteristics require me to have international teaching, working, and military experience.

Thank you for the nomination and consideration for the Bruce G. Lokey Outstanding Senior Award.
